Stephen Fry being his usual charming and nuanced self.
Oh my god if Stephen Fry wants to talk about treatment of women, he could talk about that time he did a whole round on QI about “how to spot a [transphobic slur]” (as opposed to a “real woman”).
Or he could talk about that time he said women don’t enjoy sex and just use it to manipulate men, was recorded as doing so and confirmed to have said it by several sources, and then smeared the journalists who called him out, in the process comparing being interviewed to being raped.
I don’t think I can even fully effectively convey how much I despise Stephen Fry.
But I despise him all the more because I am supposed to adore him, because people hold him up as a positive example of Britishness and how British people should be and used to be, before c**vs and “sluts” took over.
The man is islamophobic, transphobic, and misogynistic. Openly, unapologetically so. And he throws tantrums when called out, smearing innocent people for reporting accurately what he has said.
this guy just isn’t great
disappointing as hell, but good to know
