Survey after survey and poll after poll that says that American workers are overworked, underpaid, and that their management sucks. Steve Tobak’s response? It’s always been that way, so quit yer bitchin’.
To back up his argument, he trots out a bunch of solipsistic anecdotal evidence that shows that he’s right.
Employees are overworked? He’s been working 60 hours a week since the 80s!
Managers need to do more? He puts in 60 hours a week. What more do you want him to do? Be effective?!
Your job sucks? You’re not there to be happy. You’re there to work. So shut the fuck up.
Discrimination is a problem? Steve Tobak is here to assure you, as a straight, cis-gendered, wealthy, educated white male, that any discrimination you think you are experiencing is entirely in your head…unless you are a straight, cis-gendered, wealthy, educated white male. In which case, you’re totes discriminated against. I mean, the law practically mandates reverse discrimination.
