I came across a couple of really excellent posts on tumblr that dealt with race and politics today that had quite a bit of circulation, but was curious whether either had been picked up on the politics tag. Neither had. Which of course, made me look once again over at the editors and top contributors and sigh at the overwhelming whiteness of the politics tab.
Even on a day when “HIPHOP BBQ” is a big headline being peddled by one of the most heavily consumed news sources in America, you still get remarkably little commentary on race showing up in the politics tab. Not because this commentary doesn’t exist, but because the people picking the content for the tab routinely do not include such commentary.
Just pointing this out. Yet again.
