So, I did a little digging around after my last post on the Korean girl who was dumped by her adoptive parents. And the above link is what I’ve found. The girl, Jade, was eventually adopted when she was 9 years old - after TWO YEARS of uncertainty - and she is reportedly living a normal life now.
I figure a few of you would like to know this.

And the ultimate horrendousness also becomes clear: The Dutch couple who first adopted her, the Poeterays, and raised her for the first 7 years of her life claim that it was difficult to bond with her. However, the nanny who looked after Jade and the couple’s two biological children (born after the adoption, apparently they weren’t infertile as they thought) while they lived in Jakarta has said that the mother didn’t treat Jade as a “real” daughter; that Jade was treated differently than the other two children; that the mother rarely hugged Jade and then these people wonder why they haven’t “made real contact with her” - their own words!

Anyway, according to the latest news report on this (the top link), Jade is now in a family that will care properly for her. She has been properly adopted and that means she now also has citizenship and therefore rights, which the Poeterays had forgotten to secure for her - very curious mistake to make for someone who’s a diplomat/consul and works with border-crossing for a living.
I hope she’s happy with the family who took her in. After that load of shit, she deserves some wind at her back.
Update on Jade’s position. I am so glad she’s with a better family now.
