“When I was leading the charge on partial birth abortion, several members came forward and said, “Why don’t we just ban all abortions?” Tom Daschle was one of them, if you remember. And Susan Collins, and others. They wanted a health exception, which of course is a phony exception which would make the ban ineffective.”

Rick Santorum, quoted here (Thinkprogress.org)
As a breast cancer oncologist, my mother has to order abortions relatively frequently when she has a patient who is pregnant and has cancer. (Sadly, it happens more often than you’d think.) Breast cancer usually can’t wait six or more months for treatment to begin, and waiting would often assure the death of the mother and the fetus as well. But breast cancer is a phony disease, right Rick Santorum? You’re the worst.
