Measles fear mongering is riding high now, but let’s compare it to the risk of autism, and we can see that there truly is no comparison.“When the number of children who get measles is compared with the number who get autism, and then the relative harm from each is factored in, it becomes obvious that there’s an agenda behind the measles fear mongering. Measles is usually a self-limiting one-time event in life. Autism is life devastated.”
There is no scientific evidence linking the measles vaccine to autism, and last time I checked, death is worth than a life with autism. Granted, the risk of a person dying from measles is small, but the risk of dying from measles is absolutely higher than the risk of getting autism from the MMR vaccine, because you don’t get autism from vaccinations.
Beyond that, there are many people who lead happy, fulfilled lives with autism. Many people with autism would object to the idea that their lives are devastated or that somehow their autism is worse than suffering serious long-term health consequences, possibly even dying, from a completely preventable illness.
