If I had to walk to the supermarket every time I needed groceries/food, I would not have the spoons to actually cook and eat the food once I got home. This is assuming I could even afford the “healthy fruits and vegetables”, which have to be prepared, as opposed to cheaper, ~unhealthier~ alternatives that I can throw in a microwave and be done with. I’m starting to literally cringe when I see people saying stuff like this, because it is a complete denial that anyone, anywhere, is living under circumstances different than their own… it’s like the OP has not even stopped to think “Oh shit, there are people with disabilities out there; not everyone is exactly like me!”
Like RHP says above, not everyone can walk to the store. Not everyone has that much time and energy to prepare meals from scratch. And even if everyone could - not everyone wants to, and nobody should have to justify their food choices to random privileged jerks on the internet. Or to anyone, really. What a person eats is nobody else’s business, so it makes me sad that anyone can expect someone else to fall all over themselves explaining why they eat the way they do. Usually, when I see this, it’s because a person disagrees with someone’s eating habits and wants to shame or guilt that person because of it. Getting real tired of this.
Exactly. The funny thing is how often people with money, who get most things conveniently, expect people without money, who already have to work hard to get pretty much everything, to jump through flaming hoops to get basic needs like food, shelter, etc., and then to justify their efforts to people with money. Ridiculous!
