I saw the documentary Cruel and Unusual a few years ago, it really opened my eyes. It comes with a big, whopping TW but it is important to see and spread the word about this issue.

Casual reminder that although there is a transwoman on Orange is the New Black, the majority of trans* folk ARE NOT put in prisons that correlate with their gender identity and are often subject to brutal sexual violence as a result.
