“TW: Rape;Sexual Assault - Rape culture is a female being sexually harassed, sexually assaulted, and/or raped and no one does anything about it. They either look the other way, or in fact watch as if nothing bad has happened. With all the jokes about rape along with sexism, the crime it’s self has become a normality that people refuse take seriously. Cases like the Steubenville case where everyone watched but no one stepped in, or even in mine when someone consented to someone raping me and when I fought back they just watched. When the survivors came out and expressed what happened the witnesses were the first to argue it wasn’t rape, why? Because in the mind of American society, as long as it’s entertaining or you can benefit in some way from it then it isn’t a crime. But isn’t that just the American way? Benefiting from dehumanizing and raping different people and cultures?”
