University of Texas associate sociology professor Mark Regnerus (pictured) took money from the conservative Witherspoon Institute to create and publish a study on the ill-effects of gay marriage, specifically how it affects children raised by same-sex couples.

As you might expect, the only way a study could reach those results is to outright lie — ignore contrary evidence, present flawed information as fact, skew the results, etc. So, that’s exactly what Regnerus did.

The Witherspoon Institute hoped the study would directly affect the U.S. Supreme Court’s view on gay marriage. All this was uncovered in a joint investigation between The American Independent and The Huffington Post.

If you think an attempt to stigmatize a massive swath of the American public and damage the lives of countless kids sounds diabolical, you’re absolutely right. (You can tell the organization’s president, Luis E. Tellez, what you think at ltellez@winst.org.)

Looks like this Regnerus guy (regnerus@prc.utexas.edu) can be bought fairly easily. Let’s start a Kickstarter campaign to raise money to pay him to conduct a study that finds he is a sack of diarrhea. Because there’s more evidence of that, then his purchased assertion that gay marriage hurts kids.
