Yeah, I don’t think it really has so much to do with Barack Obama being a caring human being or a sociopath. He is a human being who is President of the United States. The US cannot be without violence. Its existence is inherently violent. And it’s existed far longer than Barack Obama and is a lot bigger than Barack Obama. If we want to know why he approves horrible things let’s look at why it is advantageous to the state that these things happen. Let’s research policy and politics and power relations because I think that will give us more answers than Obama’s personality profile. Plus, knowing all those other factors will give us things to resist against. If we know points a, b,…z that influence whether or not Obama approves a drone strike, we can resist against those things so that it is in interest of the executive branch to NOT approve drone strikes. Barack Obama could be the kindest person alive or have absolutely no conscience whatsoever, but, either way, he is one person in a system. Yeah he has a lot of power in that system, but he’s still just one part of it.
