Um how is this discrimination?  Maybe she needed to go home early.  Maybe she asked him to let her go home early.  Just putting it out there.  How does this make him a woman hater?  He was trying to show he isn’t the chauvinistic pig Obamas’ administration is trying to make him out to be.  He my have worded it wrong but most people can see he wasn’t trying to offend anyone.  If you think about it he wants your vote so would he intentionally try to offend you and lose your vote?

The thread that I linked to spelled all this out.  But I’ll break it down for you anyway.

Mitt Romney wants enough women to vote for him so that he can become President.  However, he isn’t interested in honestly earning/deserving the votes of women.  This can be shown with his policies/platform which includes legalizing discrimination against women.
If he personally as Governor of Massachusetts hired women, after outside pressure from the bi-partisan women’s group MassGAP, and then gave them flexible working hours (which should be given equally to all parents/caregivers and not just mothers with younger children) that’s great.  (Even if he didn’t know any qualified women from his private sector work, in fact his company Bain has never had an woman partners).  However he wasn’t asked about his personal choices, but whether he would legally defend women’s (not just mothers) rights to fair pay.  So this whole answer was pure deflection and an attempt to appeal to women by lying/misrepresenting/failing to answer the question so as to hide the fact that all of his platforms and potential policies actively work against women getting fair pay, or any type of equality in the work place.  Never mind the whole healthcare and body autonomy issues.

Also I’m sure Romney wasn’t trying to offend women.  But the fact that his default is objectifying language (binders of women, not their resumes) taking credit for the efforts of women (MassGAP), and having a sexist platform, means he honestly is a chauvinist.
