dantedieshard:

Except myths like “rape culture” will be brought into this. It already is. Plus, look at the tone and the name itself- creepshot. It’s a strongly biased rhetoric geared to create trouble.

Also, if you don’t think Gawker is biased towards the feminist agenda, I suggest you spend some time on sister sites like Kotaku and, surprise- Jezebel! Nonsense buzzwords like “rape culture” and “male privilege” are thrown around all the time.

But if only a small number of people buy into the “myth” of rape culture, why are you worried? Unless you know that this is actually really fucking messed up behavior and that most people will think there’s something wrong with it? I just don’t understand getting all panicked over this if it’s really as much of a non-issue as you say it is. If it’s a non-issue, no one other than a few feminists and media outlets that cater to feminists will care. The people who are posting pictures of girls and women without their knowledge to some online spank bank won’t have to worry about it, because most people should understand, according to you.

Also, the people who created the community call it creepshot. This isn’t something imposed from the outside. The people who do this do it knowing it’s creepy. So why is it so bad when someone calls them on the fact that it’s creepy, when that’s what they call it themselves?
