These defense spending cuts are the result of the good folks in Congress being utterly incapable of passing a budget. Instead, they passed the Budget Control Act of 2011 which basically said, “Either get your shit together or we cut the hell out of everyone’s budgets willy nilly.” Paul Ryan voted for this. Moreover, it doesn’t matter who is president. If Congress can’t work together, these cuts happen regardless.

Also? Also?  I’d love to hear some actual details about where Romney plans to cut $3 trillion a year from the budget. So far, all I’ve heard is, “I’m going to wave my magic wand and make the IMPOSSIBLE happen because I’m Mitt Romney.”
