Akin v. McCaskill polling

Rasmussen has released a new poll on the Senate race between Todd “Legitmate Rape” Akin and Claire McCaskill.¹ This is really the first poll after Akin’s comments had enough time to percolate into the public awareness.

It turns out that a comment like that will erase turn a lead of around 3% into a deficit of 10%. In other words, the election looks like it went from close-but-probably-Akins to not-close-at-all for McCaskill. There’s time before the election—but for now it looks like Akins’ chances of election are dropping fast.
